It’s My Turn: Artsakh Public Radio Executive Director Meri Davtyan
The Executive Director of the Artsakh Public Radio and Television Company, Meri Davtyan, announced on her Facebook page that she has been dismissed from her position.
“It’s my turn... I must leave the position of Executive Director of the Artsakh Public Radio and Television Company. I have to... There was no specific justification provided; it turns out there are certain discontentments within the team. When I asked whether I could know what the complaints were about, the response from the Republic's leader confirmed my assumptions. Of course, I was aware of the content of the complaints (after all, I had direct relations with my employees and, as strange as it may sound, I agreed with some of the grievances). In response to my additional clarifying question about whether the country's leader prefers to give in to the dissatisfaction of a group that leads the institution towards stagnation and does not want to leave its comfort zone, or my demand for professionalism, the answer was unequivocal: yes, for me, the solidarity of the team is crucial. Indeed, the approach was disarming.
When I asked for clarification once more: what if, after some time, another group sends letters of complaint against the newly elected leader, which is highly likely based on my 20-year experience in television, the answer was that, of course, he would be replaced as well... Nevertheless, I am only happy that imposing professionalism, operating within the legal framework, correcting financial anomalies here and there, sometimes combating total ignorance, and efforts to eliminate tastelessness have led to certain grievances. However, I regret that the highest authority of the country prioritized the organized mediocrity of 'For Universal Solidarity.' Nevertheless, I accepted the demand for my resignation.
Dear esteemed colleagues, I will understand your multifaceted silence under this post. We, of course, know the reality and the truth together. Your confessions were important to me. From now on, I will be following our broadcasts from a distance and will not be indifferent, so do not give me the opportunity to make comments. Stay well...
P.S. Oh, I must not forget, the employees of Mediator only help you.
