«Joxovurd»: Alik Sargsyan Interrogated in Haik Harutyunyan Case

«Joxovurd» newspaper continues to publish the names of officials interrogated in the case of former Police Chief Haik Harutyunyan's suicide, who is accused in the March 1 case. According to the information we have obtained, former Police Chief Lieutenant General Alik Sargsyan has been interrogated in the criminal case. Former Deputy Police Chief Lieutenant General Ararat Mahtesyan has also been interrogated regarding Haik Harutyunyan’s suicide case.

It should be remembered that Haik Harutyunyan committed suicide on September 24, 2019. In about a month, it will mark a year since the investigation into his suicide has been launched, and many questions still remain unanswered. Psychological and psychiatric examinations have been appointed in the case. In addition, various individuals who reported that Harutyunyan had been depressed and distressed by the events happening around him were also invited for questioning.

It is noteworthy that Haik Harutyunyan served as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia from 1999 to 2003, and as the Chief of Police from 2003 to 2008. From 2010 to 2014, he was the head of the Criminal Executive Department of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia.
