Protest in Amulsar Ends, Participants to Gather Again Tomorrow
The protest in Amulsar concluded today. However, participants will gather again tomorrow in Amulsar.
Jermuk Mayor Vardan Hovhannisyan announced a short while ago that "Lidian Armenia" has made a mistake regarding the installation of the container cabins, and experts will come tomorrow to relocate them approximately 7 meters to the appropriate area. The protesters are not satisfied with just a 7-meter move, demanding that the cabins be relocated at least 30 meters away.
The mayor also mentioned to reporters that it’s possible not only that the cabins of "Lidian" will be moved but also the cabins of the guardians in Amulsar.
It is noteworthy that for the third consecutive day, protests in Amulsar have continued, with demonstrators blocking the road leading to Jermuk city. They have three demands: firstly, to move the new cabin of the security service hired by "Lidian" 30 meters away from the area, the removal of the company’s security group from Amulsar, and a clear decision from the government regarding Amulsar.
It should be reminded that the new security service hired by "Lidian" has removed the cabins of the guardians in Amulsar and replaced them with their own.
The situation in Amulsar has been tense over the past two days, with arrests made during the protests and clashes occurring between police and demonstrators. Protesters have attempted to move the cabins set up by the security group hired by "Lidian Armenia" on the territory they rent in Amulsar.
