«Joghobot». The Head of the Military Police Will Be Appointed Close to the Chief Prosecutor
The acting head of the Military Police, Alexander Agajanian, has just 15 days left in his position. He started performing the duties of the acting head on February 21, after the previous head, Arthur Baghdasaryan, was relieved of his duties. As the legally mandated six-month period is nearing completion, a new head of the Military Police is to be appointed, and it appears that Agajanian will not be the one.
According to information from the newspaper «Joghobot», Gurgen Hakobyan, the head of the division overseeing investigations into particularly important military service-related cases at the Military Central Prosecutor's Office, is set to be appointed as the head of the Military Police. It is noteworthy that he was awarded by the President of Armenia on the occasion of Prosecutor's Day on July 1. At that time, rumors circulated that his award was not coincidental. Hakobyan, who is a close associate of Chief Prosecutor Arthur Davtyan, was already considered a potential candidate back then, and now a final decision has been made.
