Current Events Surrounding Amulsar Are a Result of Two Years of Neglect and Lawlessness, Residents Appeal to the Prime Minister

WRed

Dear Prime Minister,
What is currently happening around Amulsar is a consequence of two years of neglect and lawlessness. In our communities, there is no law, no state, and no means of livelihood. It seems that the government has allowed people in these communities to prey on each other, and whoever wins will have their issues resolved. We have neither government nor Prime Minister. If every village, every community must decide what can be done through strife and deceit, what is the purpose of the people sitting in the government?

For two years, the communities around Amulsar have been subjected to hunger. There are no jobs, Amulsar is illegally closed, and the government is doing nothing. Over the past two days, 50-100 protesters, including various political figures from Yerevan, have raised a commotion, undermining our hopes for work, and seeking political gain at the expense of thousands of residents’ livelihoods in these communities. A few dozen people are blocking roads in this community, and several hundred police are doing nothing. Are these protesters exempt? We cannot go outside our homes without masks, but they can do whatever they want? Who will protect the interests of the remaining 5,000 residents in the community?

What are you waiting for, Prime Minister? Does the government want such issues to be resolved through clashes? After all, you promised us a country of law. We have not seen the rule of law for two years. What are you afraid of? People in these communities are waiting for your decision. Show us the promised country of law. Restore the law in Jermuk and Gndevaz. It is enough to remain silent. We have the right to live.
