25 Positive Coronavirus Cases Detected at a Mental Health Center in Just a Few Days, Torosyan

The situation regarding the new type of coronavirus pandemic is easing, but the daily number of new cases remains high. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the regular government meeting.

"We have a certain confidence that the detectability of cases has increased. We have received an opportunity for some tactical changes in this regard, and whereas previously there was a large flow, the Ministry of Health will now take more initiative and will go to risky places, groups, and factories on its own to conduct testing, and this will enable us to somehow overcome the pandemic," he said.

The Prime Minister noted that there are currently 68 patients in extremely serious condition, 300 in serious condition, while the peak number of those in extremis was 178. "The numbers have decreased, but our analysis shows that we were able to record such a decrease mainly due to the implementation of mandatory mask-wearing rules, and our message is clear that anti-epidemic rules must be strictly adhered to," he stated.

Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan mentioned that there is a stable decrease, adding that moving forward, if the virus is detected in any workplace, banks, or supermarkets, they will not wait for symptoms to appear, but will test everyone. "In a few days, we have evaluated one of the mental health centers, testing 350 people at once, and found 25 positive cases, none of whom had any complaints," he said.
