Lydian Armenia Will Not Negotiate Outside the Law
Lydian Armenia has issued a statement expressing serious concern regarding the situation in Amulsar.
Yesterday, Lydian removed the illegally installed containers that had been on its territory for two years. A group that had illegally invaded Lydian's site incited residents of the community on August 4 with provocative statements, threatening "bloodshed" and calling for participation in the illegal actions. Despite all efforts, the community largely remained uninvolved in the actions of the criminal group, with several dozen provocateurs from Yerevan joining those supporting the unlawful activities.
Thousands of people in these communities have been waiting for a legal resolution to the issue for two years. Deprived of legal employment and living under the constant threat from the criminal group, these desperate individuals have not received legitimate protection of their rights from the state and law enforcement agencies.
Yesterday, over 5,000 residents of the community watched live as several dozen provocateurs, including various opportunists from Yerevan, negotiated with the police, who have shown systematic tolerance towards these illegal actions, claiming to represent the community.
Lydian Armenia officially declares that it will continue to be one of the few companies in Armenia that will not stray from the letter of the law under any circumstances, no matter how difficult it may be. The company will not negotiate outside the legal framework on any subject. It will continue to fight for the restoration of its legitimate rights against all forces attempting to undermine the country's largest and exemplary investment through illegal actions.
Lydian Armenia states that it will not become a political pawn for any force. The world has been watching this unprecedented lawlessness for two years, which has left a stain on Armenia's reputation.
Lydian Armenia calls on the government and law enforcement to restore the law and stand by the rights of the thousands of citizens who have suffered from two years of legal violations.
