Caretaker Changes Disinfection Rules for Gyms and Swimming Pools

The Deputy Prime Minister and caretaker Tigran Avinyan has signed a new decision that modifies the previously signed regulations concerning retail spaces, gyms, and swimming pools. The caretaker's decision has been published on the official government website.

According to the new decision signed by the caretaker, a specific clause of the previously adopted decision N63, which stipulated that "Every day from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, only individuals of retirement age are served, ensuring disinfection of the store's space before their service," is no longer a mandatory requirement.

With the amendment, a 10th clause has been added to the N63 decision, stating that "Before serving each customer, the table surface is disinfected in their presence."

In the section regarding gyms and swimming pools, 7th and 8th clauses have been added, which require that alcohol-based disinfectants be available in containers next to each gym equipment in a visible area, and that benches around swimming pools be placed at least one and a half meters apart.

Regarding showers and changing rooms in gyms and swimming pools, the new decision mandates that after each visitor, the shower, changing room locker, and benches must be disinfected with a 70-90% alcohol-based or chlorine-based disinfectant, as per the requirements of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia's order N 977-A dated March 16, 2020, with documentation in the registration journal. According to the order of the Ministry of Health, the disinfectants used must comply with the methodological guidelines approved by the Minister of Health.
