Czechia to Send Rescue Workers to Beirut
The Czech Republic is set to send a team of rescue workers to Beirut, specializing in locating individuals trapped under rubble, announced the country's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Jan Hamacek on social media.
“The team, consisting of 37 rescuers, including five rescue dog handlers, is ready to depart for Beirut to offer assistance,” he noted.
The Lebanese authorities have accepted the offer of aid. The Czech rescue team is scheduled to leave for Beirut at 16:00 Central European Time (19:00 Yerevan time).
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis described the explosion, which resulted in numerous casualties, as a colossal tragedy. “We are prepared to provide all types of assistance,” the politician stated.
According to the latest reports, the explosion has claimed the lives of over 100 individuals, with nearly 4,000 injured.
