After Burial, Hands Should Not Be Dried with Shared Towels: New Order
The Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, signed a new order on August 4, establishing sanitary rules related to COVID-19 in Armenia.
The order states: "In areas designated for wake and burial ceremonies, handwashing facilities must be provided, including running hot and cold water with elbow-, foot-, or touchless (sensor) operated taps, along with soap. In cases where soap is unavailable, a hand sanitizer/disinfectant with 60-80% alcohol content should be used, in accordance with point 24 of the annex approved by the Minister of Health on July 16, 2010. Hands should not be dried with shared towels after washing."
The order also notes that participants in the wake and burial ceremonies should not kiss or touch the deceased's body.
