Video: Gayané Melkomyan, Member of Yerevan City Council's My Step Group, Who Fought for the Preservation of Mashtots Park

Meet Gayané Melkomyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the My Step faction and the chair of the Council's permanent committee on legal affairs. Years ago, she fought to keep Mashtots Park a green space, vocally protesting with cries of, 'Taron, step away' and other similar chants.

This was shared on Facebook by fellow Yerevan City Council member Hripsime Arakelyan, who specifically stated: 'I haven't heard her voice in recent days concerning the ongoing developments in Mashtots Park. I sincerely wish that Gayané, as an expert on this matter, would explain to me and other Yerevan residents why the cutting down of these trees and the restoration of the café during their time in power is justified. Please convince me...'
