VIDEO: Lydian Armenia Announces Removal of Illegal Structures
Lydian Armenia has initiated the removal of illegal structures, specifically mobile trailers, that have been on its legal territory for nearly two years. The company holds all necessary permits to operate in the Amulsar area, which have not been revoked or even temporarily suspended.
The only obstacle to operations in Amulsar has been a group of individuals who have illegally encroached on Lydian's territory for the past two years. Lydian has attempted to avoid confrontations during this period, relying on the application of the law, which has not been enforced regarding this issue.
It is worth mentioning that in April 2019, the Administrative Court of Armenia mandated the police to eliminate the encroachment and remove individuals and their property from the company's land. In July of this year, Lydian received another expert conclusion stating that the trailers are located within Lydian's territory. As the police once again failed to respond to the company’s request, Lydian took it upon itself to remove the illegally placed property from its land.
The group committing illegal activities in Amulsar, seeing that they lack support from community residents, is trying to provoke conflicts by artificially creating noise with groups of provocateurs gathering from Yerevan. We urge community residents not to fall for these provocations and to refrain from confrontations with the group engaging in hooliganism. We call on law enforcement bodies to pursue the restoration of legality in this area and ensure the safety of citizens.
The following video features Arthur Danielyan, head of the security service, who presents the basis for the removal of the trailers, along with the relevant documents and the responses of residents from the communities surrounding Amulsar.
