Three Miners Dead, Many Rush to Hospital After Gas Poisoning Incident
On June 10, an emergency incident occurred in the Kotayk region. At around 00:40, the police department in Hrazdan received a call from the Hrazdan Medical Center reporting that a group of citizens had been admitted with a diagnosis of 'acute exogenous poisoning due to mine gas.'
According to shamshyan.com, the police identified the hospitalized individuals as residents of the village of Meghradzor: 28-year-old Vahan Yeprémyan, 30-year-old Sahak Sahakyan, 36-year-old Agasi Ghazaryan, 34-year-old Gegham Khachatryan, 53-year-old Gevorg Yeprémyan, and 42-year-old Vardan Sepoyan.
It was determined that these individuals were poisoned while attempting to retrieve the bodies of their fellow villagers — 34-year-old Bagrat Khachatryan, 29-year-old Haik Safaryan, and 27-year-old Aram Gogolyan — from an abandoned mine shaft belonging to Meghradzor-Gold LLC.
According to G. Shamshyan's reports, the police also clarified that the individuals were in the area of the mine shaft known as 'Kyalfajar.'
