Video Captures Moment Shots Fired at 'Kyazh Ashot'

Shamshyan.com presents a video showing the moment when Ashot Petrosyan, the 28-year-old owner of 'Rima-Travel', was shot dead yesterday, June 9, in the Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan.

As previously reported, on June 9, a homicide involving the use of firearms occurred in Shengavit. With the leadership of the Chief of the Criminal Police Department of the Republic of Armenia, Artak Karapetyan, along with Armen Gasparyan, head of the Criminal Investigation Division of Yerevan, and Arthur Zakaryan, head of the operational division, the police have identified the participants in the incident that took place in the yard of building No. 9 on May 9 street and the identity of the deceased.

It was revealed that the deceased was Ashot Petrosyan, a resident of the aforementioned street and owner of 'Rima-Travel', who was known in Shengavit as 'Kyazh Ashot'.

Preliminary information showed that around 5:05 PM on the same day, during a dispute between A. Petrosyan and a group of individuals, mutual shots were exchanged. During this exchange, 30-year-old Konstantin Hunanian fired at A. Petrosyan with an illegal firearm he was carrying, resulting in A. Petrosyan's death at 'Shengavit' Medical Center.

Police and investigators further established that the individuals involved in the dispute included 30-year-old Aram Yeghiazaryan from Kotayk Province, 30-year-old Samvel Kirmoyan from Yerevan, 24-year-old David Tadevosyan from Lori Province, 32-year-old Ashot Khachatryan, 32-year-old Jacques Aivazyan, 29-year-old Andranik Mgayyan, 31-year-old Tigran Hakobyan from Aragatsotn Province, and 24-year-old Kamo Khachatryan from Aragatsotn Province.

According to initial reports, during the altercation, A. Khachatryan, S. Kirmoyan, and D. Tadevosyan also fired at A. Petrosyan with illegal firearms. The police and investigative department were conducting necessary operational and investigative joint actions to locate the aforementioned individuals and the firearms considered as the murder weapon.

Sources indicate that the father of participant A. Mgayyan, Arayik Mgayyan, is a former police officer with the rank of police colonel who has worked for many years as the head of the organized crime division in the criminal investigation department. Meanwhile, K. Hunanian, who fired the shots, had previously been convicted for committing a robbery and was released under an amnesty; he is known by the nickname 'Koko' in his circles.
