Firefighting Operations Begin in Khosrov Forest State Reserve

As previously reported, on June 18 at 14:41, the National Crisis Management Center received information about smoke observed in a section leading from the first checkpoint of the Khosrov Forest State Reserve towards "Kyosos." An operational team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Ararat regional rescue department and five firefighting squads have been dispatched to the scene.

Additionally, four teams from the Rescue Forces Administration's Special Rescue Operations Center and operational groups from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Organization Division and the Service Organization Administration are also on-site. A drone has been deployed to carry out reconnaissance operations, and a helicopter has also been sent to the area.

A total of 60 rescuers are currently at the scene. Deputy Minister of Environment Vardan Melikyan announced on his Facebook page that "firefighting operations have begun, and rain has fallen, which has somewhat alleviated the situation."
