Shooting in Yerevan: 'Kiyazh Ashot' Dies After Gunshot Wounds

According to Shamshyan.com, gunshots were heard a short while ago in Yerevan. Shots were fired from a firearm near building 9 on May 9 Street in the Shengavit administrative district, resulting in one person being taken to the 'Shengavit' medical center with gunshot wounds, according to preliminary reports.

At this moment, the head of the Yerevan City Police Department, Armen Gasparyan, has arrived at the scene alongside the deputy head of the operational department, Arthur Zakaryan. An operational group from the Shengavit division led by the division head, Arthur Shmavonyan, has also arrived.

Police found casings from a firearm at the scene. The police are in the process of determining the identity of the injured individual.

According to Gagik Shamshyan, the victim died in the hospital without regaining consciousness. He was identified as 28-year-old Ashot Petrosyan, who was well known in Shengavit as 'Kiyazh Ashot.'
