Major Accident in Gyumri: Casualties Reported
On June 10, at 01:07, the National Center for Crisis Management received a report of a traffic accident in Gyumri city, on Shirakatsy Street, with casualties involved.
A firefighting team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Gyumri regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was found that vehicles involved in the accident were a "VAZ-2107" (driver: Mkrtich K., born in 1998) and a "Mercedes-Benz C" (driver: Armen S., born in 1982), which collided near building 10 of the 8th Military District.
Before the rescuers arrived, the driver of the "VAZ-2107" and passenger Melkon K. (born in 2002) were hospitalized in Gyumri's Medical Center, where their health condition was assessed as satisfactory. The driver of the "Mercedes-Benz C" refused medical assistance.
The rescuers secured the area, disconnected the vehicles' power, closed the gas valve of the "VAZ-2107" vehicle, and maintained a watch until the gas cylinder of the "Mercedes-Benz C" was deflated.
