Criminal Case Against Father for Sexual Relations with Underage Daughter Sent to Court

The preliminary investigation into the criminal case of a father having sexual relations with his underage daughter has been completed at the Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in the Armavir region.

The investigation revealed that between December 2018 and January 2019, the father, born in 1973, took advantage of the absence of family members from their home and repeatedly engaged in sexual relations with his underage daughter in his bedroom, resulting in her becoming pregnant.

On August 12, 2019, a medical center reported that an underage resident of the Armavir region had given birth. According to the conclusions of the forensic genetic examination, the father of the newborn is the girl’s father.

Based on sufficient evidence collected, charges have been filed against the man born in 1973 under part 3, clause 2 of Article 141 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (engaging in sexual intercourse with a person under sixteen or committing sexual acts against a person under sixteen). The court has chosen detention as a preventive measure for him.

The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
