20-Year-Old Young Man Arrested for Counterfeiting

Officers from the Crime Investigation Department of the Arabkir Division of the Police acted on received operational data and apprehended 20-year-old Vachagan Soghomonyan from the 1st district of Dzoraghbyur village in the Kotayk region. He had been wanted by the police since May 26 of this year, according to Shamshyan.com.

The police conducted surveillance at several addresses until they located him. Subsequently, counterfeit banknotes worth 20,000 AMD (approximately 9 notes) were discovered at the apartment he rented in Yerevan, located in one of the buildings on Tigran Mets Avenue, along with a device for producing the counterfeit currency.

It has already been established at the police station that V. Soghomonyan not only committed this crime but also engaged in a series of embezzlements and intentional damages to property. According to sources, the number of embezzlements exceeds several instances, and he managed to skillfully deceive managers from several companies operating in the republic.
