Meteor Noted Over Armenia Likely Fallen in Turkey

A meteor observed from the territory of the Republic of Armenia on the night of May 28 may have fallen in Turkey. According to Armenpress, Hurriyetdailynews reports on the meteor's fall in Turkey's northeast region.

The Turkish media has published a video shared on social media, showing how the meteor collides with the ground and emits a bright light. The impact of the meteor has been noticeable in several provinces, including Sivas, Bingöl, Trabzon, and Ardvin.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority and other relevant bodies have dispatched teams to investigate the area of the meteor's fall. The media notes that a meteor also fell in the same area in 2015.

It was later confirmed that the meteor was detached from a larger one known as 'Vesta'.

In addition, it should be reminded that on the night of May 28, a video circulated on the internet showing how the celestial body approaches the Earth. Users noted that the celestial object was a meteor that fell in the Hrazdan-Hankavan area.

However, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory in Armenia have no factual data regarding the meteor's fall.
