Thief Who Stole Alcohol from a Home in Gavar Detected
On the evening of May 20, a woman reported to the Gavar police department that a theft had occurred at their private residence on Proshyan Street in Gavar between May 10 and 20. An operational group dispatched to the scene determined that, taking advantage of the owners' absence, the burglars had broken the glass of the balcony door, entered the house, ransacked the rooms, and stolen alcoholic beverages before leaving.
A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident. The investigation team undertook necessary measures for detection, from examining the crime scene to conducting operational inquiries. Just one day after the report, the residential burglary was solved.
Through joint efforts from the Gegharkunik Regional Police Department and the Gavar division, it became clear that the secret theft was carried out by three minor residents from the streets of Isahakyan, Nalbandyan, and Azatutyun in Gavar. Following explanatory work, on May 21, the suspects appeared at the Gavar police station, where they not only confessed to the crime but also presented part of the stolen items.
Subsequent measures revealed that earlier in May, they had entered one of the houses on Proshyan Street through a bedroom window, stealing artisanal tools, a water pump, household items, and drinks. Days later, they again entered a house on Nalbandyan Street through a window, stealing an electric motor and household items. Reports have been received from the victims. Circumstances are under investigation and the preliminary investigation of the opened criminal case continues.
