Teenager Involved in Accident with Stolen Car Found; Criminal Case Initiated
The Tavush division of the police received information regarding an incident that occurred on May 20, around midnight, where a 20-year-old resident of Berd, together with two minors, stole a "VAZ-2106" car from Khorenatsi Street in Berd. During their journey, the car overturned. The "VAZ-2106" was later found on the Berd-Veirin Karmiraghbyur road.
After verifying the authenticity of the information obtained and conducting explanatory work, the suspects presented themselves to the Tavush police on May 21. Subsequently, it was discovered that in April, they had stolen a digital satellite dish and an electric heater from an apartment on Utyki Street in Berd. The heater was recovered, but that was not all. In March, the 20-year-old, along with one of the minors, had stolen cables, artisan and construction tools from a workshop in Berd.
One of the minors had acted alone in several criminal episodes. For instance, he had stolen an electric screwdriver, an electric saw, and other artisan tools and construction materials from a warehouse in Berd. On May 10, he also stole another "VAZ-2106" car, with which he crashed while exiting a building courtyard.
Interestingly, the criminals even robbed each other. In March, the 20-year-old, visiting his minor friend, secretly stole his mobile phone from the living room. Days later, the minor friend also visited him and blatantly stole his accomplice's phone. Despite this, their collaboration continued.
Victims have filed complaints. Circumstances are being clarified, and measures are underway to recover the stolen items. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
