5-Year-Old Child Transferred from Masis Hospital Dies at Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center

On May 25, a 5-year-old child died in the intensive care unit of the Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center in Yerevan without regaining consciousness. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the child had been transferred to the medical center from Masis Hospital, where he was admitted on May 20.

On that day, Levon A., a five-year-old resident of Masis, was diagnosed with "cranial-traumatic injury, coma" and subsequently transferred to the Masis hospital. An operational group from the Masis police department, led by department head Armen Khachatryan, was dispatched to the hospital. The police determined that on the same day, around 21:00, a TV set manufactured in the USSR fell on Levon A. from a diaper placed in the living room of their home, causing the injuries that led to his hospital stay.

Materials are being prepared in the investigative department of the Masis police regarding the incident.
