Fire at VEGA Furniture Production Facility

On May 17, at 17:00, the National Crisis Management Center of Armenia received a call reporting a fire in the vicinity of the VEGA company in the Kayanan neighborhood of Masis, Ararat region, where piled-up shavings were burning.

Two firefighting crews and one water tanker from the Regional Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that the fire had originated in the area of the VEGA furniture production facility located at 5 Sayat Nova Street.

The fire was contained by 18:26 and extinguished by 18:58. The heat-insulating layer of the building's roof (approximately 50 square meters) and about 25 cubic meters of accumulated shavings were burned.
