Guns, Rifles, Grenades: Voluntary Surrender of Weapons and Ammunition to Police Station
As a result of explanatory work carried out by the officers of the Mashtots police station, a 29-year-old resident of Yerevan voluntarily surrendered a factory-numbered revolver, a grenadier grenade with a detonator, a magazine for a submachine gun, and more than 80 rounds of ammunition of various calibers on May 11.
According to the young man, the weapons and ammunition belonged to his late uncle.
On May 12, a 67-year-old man from Dilijan voluntarily surrendered a factory-numbered "TOZ" type rifle, designed to fire 16 mm caliber ammunition, which belonged to his late father.
A 29-year-old resident of Koghb village also voluntarily surrendered a grenade with a detonator of the "J-1" type, as well as a homemade rifle designed to fire 32 mm caliber ammunition at the Novemberian police station, stating that these belonged to his late grandfather.
A 52-year-old resident of Chinari village voluntarily surrendered a factory-numbered double-barreled shotgun and more than 30 rounds of various calibers to the Tavush police station. According to him, the weapons and ammunition were found while repairing a roof and belonged to his late father.
A 52-year-old man from Lake Lchapa village in Gegharkunik Province voluntarily surrendered a revolver, a grenade, a grenade detonator, and 120 rounds of submachine gun ammunition to the Gavar police station, stating that these belonged to his late father.
A 48-year-old resident of Ujan village voluntarily surrendered an "F-1" type grenade, grenade detonators, submachine gun magazines, and more than 150 rounds of ammunition of various calibers to the Ashtarak police station, indicating that the ammunition belonged to his late brother.
Forensic examinations have been appointed. It should be noted that those who voluntarily surrender illegally held weapons and ammunition are exempt from criminal liability.
