Video: Extraordinary Incident in Armavir - Intruder Enters Home Through Window and Kills Sleeping Young Man

On the night of May 10, around 2:40 AM, a call was received by the police department of Armavir. A 30-year-old man was reported murdered in his home on Charentsi Street, 3rd Lane, in the city of Armavir. Upon examination of the body, a gunshot wound was detected, along with a plastic casing from a 16mm caliber bullet found in the bedroom.

It became clear that an individual who entered the house through the window had opened fire on the sleeping young man and subsequently escaped through the door. The family members, awakened by the sound of the gunfire, alerted the police and emergency medical services.

A criminal case was initiated by the regional investigative department regarding the incident. While the criminal investigators of the Armavir police were taking measures to solve the particularly grave crime, a call was received at the Vagharshapat police department from the “Vagharshapat” medical center in the early morning. A 42-year-old man from the village of Geghakert in the Armavir region had been hospitalized with stab wounds to the neck and chest.

Through a series of complex operational and investigative measures, law enforcement agencies in the region put forward a hypothesis that the individual who had killed the sleeping young man had also stabbed the man who was transported to the hospital. Investigators from the Armavir police department quickly identified the suspect and several circumstances surrounding the incidents.

After killing the young man, the suspect, reportedly on a bicycle, had returned to Ejmiatsin, where he resides. On the way, he had entered the property of one of the villagers in Geghakert. The 42-year-old owner spotted him and believed that he was committing theft. An argument ensued during which the suspect stabbed the man several times before fleeing the scene.

On May 11, officers from the Armavir regional police department, along with personnel from the Armavir and Vagharshapat divisions, tracked down the suspect in Ejmiatsin and took him into custody. The 45-year-old man from Ejmiatsin was presented to the investigative body and was arrested.

Subsequent measures by the police and investigative committee revealed the weapons used in the crimes, including a makeshift firearm and a knife, which were confiscated. The investigation continues regarding the criminal cases of murder with the use of a firearm and attempted murder with a knife. Operational and investigative measures are underway to ascertain the motives behind the crimes.
