Why the Military Prosecutor's Two Sons Did Not Serve in the Army
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the Military Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia and Deputy Prosecutor General Vahe Harutyunyan has three sons. Information has reached "Zhoghovurd" about the reasons behind the exemptions of his two sons from military service, although it remains unclear what justifications or grounds exist for this.
We attempted to get answers from Military Prosecutor Vahe Harutyunyan, but after hearing our question, he responded: "Please refer to the press department." Subsequently, "Zhoghovurd" contacted the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, where they stated, "The information you have is largely inaccurate. First, the military prosecutor does not have a son within the conscription age you mentioned. Secondly, his sons are registered in the reserve and have been legally exempted from military service due to health issues that are incompatible with military service, as confirmed by the necessary examinations and the republican conscription commission."
Furthermore, it is important to note that during the relevant time, V. Harutyunyan did not hold the position of Military Prosecutor, which indicates that all attempts to link this issue with his official status are unfounded.
For additional information regarding the legal grounds, you may refer to the competent state body, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, considering that it is the governing body of such information under the RA Law on Freedom of Information.
It is also noted that the third son of the military prosecutor is of conscription age, but judging by the examples of his two brothers, it is possible he may also evade service for some reason.
