Several Employees of the Armenian Embassy in Russia Quarantined on Suspicion of COVID-19 Infection

All Armenian citizens wishing to return to their homeland will be transported before the last citizen leaves. According to Armenpress, this was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Avet Adonts, during a press conference held on April 21, addressing the issue of Armenian citizens wanting to return from Russia during the pandemic.

“Several diplomats from our embassy in the Russian Federation are in quarantine. They came into contact with Armenian citizens who tested positive for the coronavirus, and we received their positive test results after their return to Armenia,” said Adonts.

The deputy minister urged Armenian citizens abroad to inform embassy staff if they exhibit any symptoms of the coronavirus and to adhere to rules to prevent the spread of the virus.

Since April 6, three charter flights have been organized to transport Armenian citizens from Moscow to Yerevan. On April 19 and 20, citizens from Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don also returned to Armenia via charter flights.
