Petros Ghazaryan Dismissed from His Position

The Public Television and Radio Company Council has issued a statement regarding the incident that occurred during the broadcast of the Prime Minister's video address. The statement reads: “The Council respects the executive director's decision to take personal responsibility by accepting his resignation. At the same time, the Council expresses its appreciation to Margarita Grigoryan for her effective, professional, and selfless work as the executive director of Public Television. The Council has appointed Armen Sargsyan, the deputy director for creative affairs, as the acting executive director of Public Television.

According to their applications, the director of the news service, Petros Ghazaryan, and the producer of the television company, Vardan Hakobyan, have also been relieved of their positions. Ruben Shahinyan, the deputy director, has been appointed as the acting director of the news service.

In the near future, the Council will form a competitive committee and announce a competition for the position of executive director of Public Television.

It is noteworthy that yesterday, Margarita Grigoryan, the executive director of Public Television, also submitted her resignation letter, stating that she finds it unacceptable to publicly release footage recorded prior to the broadcast from the Prime Minister and is sincerely outraged by this cheap action that violates collegial and ethical principles.
