I Am Not Leaving Public TV: Petros Ghazaryan
Petros Ghazaryan, the director of the news service of the Public Television and Radio Company, responded on his Facebook page to a post by Samvel Farmanyan:
“Samvel, I am sincerely glad that after the revolution, you and your friends can write about the government in a way that you used to talk among friends but never voiced out loud. I am very pleased that, unlike many of your friends, you do not confuse criticism with vile insults.
I can understand if you feel very hurt by the published materials about your sister and your friends. Such perception is very subjective and human. But you have forgotten that we have always been ready to give your sister, her lawyers, and your friends and their lawyers the opportunity to voice the opposite opinion. We are ready for it today, too.
I am not leaving Public TV. You know very well that I previously rejected your leader’s offer to head the political news block of Public TV. If I remember correctly, you were present at that time. I don’t believe in angels and devils. But I believe in the possibility of changing for the better. I rejected the impossibility of that change.
I have resigned of my own free will to ensure that there is a thorough and impartial investigation. I am very glad that political upheavals have not affected your desire to have coffee with me. Of course, we will drink together. But I would be much happier if you could see what your media outlets owned by you and your friends are broadcasting today and try to change something.
I don’t know what doors are opened in front of me, as you have written. I hope, knowing me well, those un-aesthetic doors are not among them. The doors of Public TV are open to everyone. Tomorrow, I invite you to air. In the last few times, you have refused. If you refuse again, the coffee table is always there.”
