Support Is for Wood and Dung Fuel Users, Says MP
Today, the government decided to cover 50% of utility payments for residents who used less than 10,000 drams of gas and less than 5,000 drams of electricity in February.
Notably, MP Gevorg Papoyan from the My Step faction made a Facebook post regarding this issue: "Hundreds of thousands of citizens living in rural and urban areas of Armenia do not use gas or electricity during winter, but rather wood and dung. Yes, these people indeed use less than 10,000 drams of gas and less than 5,000 drams of electricity. Furthermore, a significant portion of these citizens belong to socially vulnerable groups, and the support of 5,000 or 7,000 drams is essential for them. This explains the number of 220,000 beneficiaries of the 11th support program, and up to 600,000 people live in these households," he wrote.
