Extraordinary Government Meeting to Be Held Shortly: Will the State of Emergency Be Extended?
Today at 12:00 PM, an extraordinary session of the Government will take place. The Executive is planning to extend the state of emergency for 30 days to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Following this, a special session of the National Assembly must be convened in accordance with the Constitution.
Today, the Government will also approve the 11th measure to neutralize the economic consequences of coronavirus. According to the Government's website, the aim of the 11th measure (hereinafter referred to as the Measure) is to assist individuals facing social issues due to difficulties arising from the spread of coronavirus.
The beneficiaries of the Measure are residential subscribers who have signed contracts for the supply of natural gas and electricity, and whose expenses for February 2020 do not exceed: 1) 10,000 AMD for natural gas consumption, 2) 5,000 AMD for electricity consumption. The support is provided in the amount of 50% of the payment for consumed natural gas and electricity during February 2020 for each subscriber specified in point 2 of the Measure.
