Vehicles and Supplies Found in Manvel Grigoryan's Summer House Handed Over to the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union
The property discovered at the summer residence of former National Assembly member, ex-President of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, General Manvel Grigoryan in Aknalich, including vehicles and supplies, has been handed over to the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union as per the decision of the Yerevan City Court.
In a conversation with Sputnik Armenia, Grigoryan's lawyer Arsen Mkrtchyan stated that the vehicles in question are registered under third parties' names. He emphasized that this property has been transferred to the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union for management, not ownership rights; however, the owners can appeal to the court later. The lawyer believes that the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union has exerted some influence on the court.
Mkrtchyan recalled that various companies with trade-organizational forms operated in Aknalich.
Regarding Grigoryan's health condition, the lawyer mentioned that it remains serious and that new medical issues with additional symptoms have emerged. "Grigoryan is currently at home. His life is still at risk. We have repeatedly submitted a request to the court to arrange his treatment outside. However, it is likely that the court does not have an instruction that he must be fully acquitted," said the lawyer.
It is worth noting that back in October 2018, Grigoryan appealed to the government to donate approximately 330 hectares of land belonging to his company, 'Aknalich Quail Farming,' to the Republic of Armenia.
Manvel Grigoryan is accused of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, misappropriating property worth 101,232,917 AMD, evading tax payments amounting to 1,228,176,342 AMD, squandering state funds worth 1,225,003,300 AMD, and organizing the theft of property valued at 37,101,100 AMD. He was in custody for 1.5 years. On January 15, 2020, the Yerevan City Court decided to change his detention measure to a signature of non-leaving.
