Shots Fired Near a School in Yerevan
On April 14, 2020, at 22:11, a call was received from a citizen reporting that shots had been fired near a school in the Jrviz district of Yerevan.
As a result of the measures taken, it was determined that around 22:00 on April 14, 2020, a dispute occurred in the yard of one of the buildings in the Mayak neighborhood of Yerevan, during which shots were fired.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 258 (hooliganism) part 4 and Article 235 (illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of weapons, military supplies, explosives, or explosive devices) part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Avan and Nor Nork investigative division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
During the examination of the scene, 1 fired cartridge case and 1 bullet were discovered. Investigative and procedural actions are underway to clarify all circumstances of the incident and to identify the person(s) suspected of committing the alleged crime. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
