Negligence Causes Over 36 Million Dram Damage to the State; Case Heads to Court
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia confirmed that an ongoing criminal case in the capital’s serious crimes investigation department has revealed that the director of the State Non-Commercial Organization "Seed Agency" under the Ministry of Agriculture has displayed negligent behavior regarding his responsibilities.
Specifically, it has been established that he was required by points 5 and 6 of the Government’s decisions 216-N and 7-N to store the seeds acquired for state needs in warehouses designated for the type of seeds stored in Armenia. However, he appropriated the batches of seeds acquired and unused for state purposes in 2017-2018 to warehouses that do not meet the main requirements for technical and sanitary storage, resulting in a damage of 36,486,610 Armenian Drams to the state.
The director of the “Seed Agency” has been charged under Article 315, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (official negligence). A signature not to leave has been applied as a preventive measure against him. The investigation has been completed, and the criminal case, with an accusatory conclusion, has been sent to court.
