Electricity Worker Electrocutes Himself While Working on 10kV Power Line in Kotayk Region
A tragic incident occurred today, April 4, in the Kotayk region. Around 16:00, the 911 operational management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call that a man had been electrocuted while working on a high-voltage (10,000 volts) power line on the road section from the village of Zovuni to the village of Kanakeravan and that assistance was required to bring him down.
According to Shamshyan.com, firefighters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene with one firefighting unit. The rescuers struggled to bring down the electrocuted man from the power line, but he sadly passed away on the way to the hospital by ambulance. However, witnesses at the scene stated that he died before reaching the hospital.
Police have identified the deceased as 54-year-old Valerik Baghdasaryan, a resident of the village of Zovuni. According to sources, Baghdasaryan was working as an electricity installer at the company “Arev Construction.”
