Serious Violations Registered in Yerevan Supermarkets

The employees of the Yerevan Territorial Center of the Health and Labor Inspection Body are conducting active monitoring of organizations that are permitted to operate under the state of emergency.

As a result of inspections, several branches of major supermarket chains were found to have the following violations:

  • ❌ Many employees who interact directly with customers were not wearing masks,
  • ❌ There were no closed trash cans for disposing of used masks (they were thrown into open trash bins),
  • ❌ There was no record book for measuring employees' temperatures, nor were thermometers available,
  • ❌ The requirement for maintaining at least 2 meters of distance between workplaces and employees was not observed,
  • ❌ No lockers were provided for outerwear; employees' home clothes were hanging in open areas.

Thus, the mandatory requirements established by the decree #T/17-2020 have not been met.

A request has been submitted to the RA Prime Minister to temporarily suspend the operations of one of the supermarket branches. Relevant measures are being taken.

The Health and Labor Inspection Body urges businesses to strictly adhere to the directives established by the Prime Minister to ensure the health and safety of employees. Compliance with the requirements set forth in the guidelines is mandatory for all organizations.

In case of violations, penalties may be applied. The hotline for the Health and Labor Inspection Body is 8107.

The guidelines containing instructions for organizations can be found at this link.
