Guest Killed His Friend: Details of the Incident in Ejmiadzin
On March 22, police officers from the Vagharshapat division responded to a call at an apartment on Shahumyan Street in Ejmiadzin, where they discovered the body of a 53-year-old homeowner. Forensic experts, investigators, and a medical examiner also arrived at the scene. An examination of the body revealed head injuries.
The man, who lived alone, had been murdered. A criminal case was initiated, and officers from the Vagharshapat division began operational measures to investigate the crime.
Through several hours of various actions, law enforcement gathered information that just hours before the body was discovered, the 53-year-old man had hosted a friend who lived in the village of Artimet. An argument had broken out between them over household issues, during which the 36-year-old man struck the homeowner on the head with an as yet unidentified object, before leaving for Artimet.
On the same day around 1:30 PM, the suspect was located in the village of Artimet, taken into custody by Vagharshapat police, and subsequently presented to the body conducting the preliminary investigation. He has been arrested.
Operational and investigative actions are ongoing to clarify all circumstances of the incident.
