Seventeen Violations Recorded by the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body

The Environmental and Mining Inspection Body has recorded a total of 17 violations during inspections, visits, and the examination of administrative proceedings. Out of these, 10 violations resulted in an assessment of 1,695,790 AMD in environmental damage, while 7 cases led to administrative fines amounting to 620,000 AMD. This information was provided by the Public Relations Department of the Inspection Body.

In particular, in the sector of plant life protection, 12 violations were noted, with 8 resulting in an assessment of 1,655,100 AMD in environmental damage and 4 yielding fines totaling 400,000 AMD.

In Lori, three cases of illegal tree felling were recorded (1 poplar, 1 willow, 6 ash, 1 cherry, 1 oak, 6 hornbeams), with an estimated environmental damage of 1,294,500 AMD. Additionally, four cases of illegal timber transportation (1 cubic meter of firewood, 2.7 cubic meters of scrap firewood) resulted in damage of 84,600 AMD. In previous illegal tree felling cases, fines of 300,000 AMD were imposed.

In Syunik, one illegal tree felling case (8 poplars, 12 ashes, 1 bread tree) resulted in an environmental damage assessment of 276,000 AMD. In Gegharkunik, a previously recorded illegal timber transportation case led to a 100,000 AMD administrative fine.

In the sector of animal life protection, three violations were recorded: two resulted in an estimated environmental damage of 40,690 AMD, and one led to a fine of 70,000 AMD.

In Gegharkunik, one case of illegal fishing (15 fish of the pike species weighing 6.3 kg, 10 polyethylene nets) led to an assessment of 31,500 AMD in environmental damage. In Yerevan, one case recorded (5 fish of the pike species weighing 1.8 kg) resulted in environmental damage amounting to 9,190 AMD. In Vayots Dzor, a previously recorded case (3 rock partridges) resulted in a 70,000 AMD administrative fine.

State examinations recorded one case in Gegharkunik, where reconstruction work was conducted in a specially protected natural area without an Environmental Impact Assessment, leading to a fine of 50,000 AMD.

In the field of mineral protection, one inspection was summarized. In Armavir, an inspection of "OST-Shin" LLC resulted in an administrative fine of 100,000 AMD. Nine cases were sent to the Administrative Court (accumulating a total of 828,500 AMD in fines). During this period, 14,463,410 AMD was deposited into the state budget of Armenia.
