Negotiations in Ankara and Moscow Did Not Yield Desired Results: Erdogan
On February 19, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced that a new military operation by the Republic's armed forces in Syria's Idlib province is merely a matter of time. “Turkey has completed preparations to implement its plans regarding Idlib, just as we have done in previous operations. To be honest, the operation in Idlib is just a matter of time.
Turkey will not leave Idlib to the whim of the regime (of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad),” Erdogan stated while addressing his party members in parliament.
According to Erdogan, “despite the ongoing negotiations about Idlib, Turkey and Russia are still far from reaching an agreement on this topic.” He also expressed the view that the negotiations held in Ankara and Moscow have “so far not yielded desired results,” TASS reported.
