Beijing Comments on the Entry Ban of Chinese Citizens to Russia
Russia has informed China in advance of its intention to temporarily ban the entry of Chinese citizens into the Russian Federation due to the coronavirus, stated the official spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Geng Shuang.
To prevent the entry and spread of the new infection, the executive headquarters decided yesterday to temporarily prohibit Chinese nationals from entering Russia for work, study, tourism, and private purposes. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
"The Russian side emphasized that it firmly supports China in the fight against the pandemic and believes that China can win this battle. However, it has informed that it will take certain restrictive measures to implement preventive actions and control the epidemic within its territory," the diplomat stated during a press briefing.
