Prime Minister: We Have Recovered $105 Million for the State Budget as a Result of the Fight Against Corruption
During a working visit to Berlin, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. In the meeting, the Prime Minister touched upon the economic results achieved in Armenia since the revolution.
"Based on the results of 2019, we expect an economic growth of 7.9-8 percent, and according to the International Monetary Fund, this is the best indicator in the entire European region, including former Soviet republics. We had only 1.4 percent inflation in 2019. In addition, unemployment has decreased by 2.2 percent. Exports have increased by 9 percent. Since 2018, as a result of the fight against corruption, we have recovered $105 million for the state budget. However, I must say that both I personally and our public are dissatisfied with this indicator, because we believe that the fight against corruption in the Republic of Armenia should be much more effective," said Pashinyan.
