Man Discharged from Hospital After Incurring Life-Threatening Injuries on Son's Birth Day

On the night of December 24-25, 2019, a 39-year-old man was transferred to the intensive care unit of the Saint Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center in a state of unconsciousness after being picked up by an ambulance from another medical center. It was later revealed that the same day, the man had welcomed the birth of his son, celebrating the occasion with friends.

Following the celebration, he left inebriated and fell headfirst from a wall 4.5 meters high. He was discovered in this state by a driver, who promptly called for an ambulance.

Upon arrival at the Saint Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center, the man was connected to a ventilator and was in extremely critical condition. Initial examinations revealed numerous fractures and brain injuries that appeared incompatible with life.

After receiving appropriate medical care, he regained consciousness on January 6 and began to breathe independently on February 1.

“I want to thank the doctors for saving my life; my son is turning two months old, but I still haven't seen him. I don’t even want to think about what would have happened if I had remained in that ditch. I also thank the unknown driver who found me unconscious and helped,” said the man.

His condition has improved, and he has been discharged from the hospital. According to Grigor Manucharyan, head of the intensive care unit, the man was able to move all of his limbs and did not have any motor deficits at the time of discharge.
