We Need to Work Hard for Progress in Armenian-Azerbaijani Relations: Merkel
I am very pleased to welcome Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Germany. This was stated today, on February 13, before a meeting with PM Nikol Pashinyan by the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel.
“Today we will talk about deepening our bilateral relations. Significant changes are currently happening in Armenia, and substantial changes are expected in the legal system, which is not an easy process. However, we wish you success in these efforts. Our relations have intensified; I can say that when I was in Armenia, I was very inspired by the TUMO Center, and recently an agreement was signed to create a TUMO Center in Germany, with plans to open it in Berlin this fall. Last October, we also held an economic forum, which opened a new avenue in German-Armenian relations. We express our gratitude that Armenia is collaborating very intensively with us in our mission in Afghanistan. We need to work hard to achieve progress in Armenian-Azerbaijani relations; this will be the topic of our discussion today,” she noted.
