When Will David Khajakyan Apologize? - Hakob Karapetyan

The press secretary of Yerevan's mayor, Hakob Karapetyan, made a post on his Facebook page, in which he mentioned the following:

“The head of the Yerevan City Council ‘Luminous’ faction, esteemed David Khajakyan, said in a video published on November 30 that if the prosecutor's office does not find any wrongdoing based on his report, he will apologize. It is known that the Special Investigation Service examined Khajakyan's report and declined to initiate a criminal case. In turn, the prosecutor's office rejected Khajakyan's appeal regarding the investigator's decision. Thus, according to Khajakyan's words, the prosecutor's office has confirmed the legality of the mayor's decision.

We believed that yesterday's City Council meeting was a good opportunity for him to fulfill his promise and apologize to the public. However, Mr. Khajakyan did not take advantage of it. Moreover, the usually active council member was absent for a significant portion of the meeting. This is also important to emphasize in the sense that Mr. Khajakyan had promised in another public post to present evidence regarding the false claims about giving ‘money, money’ instead of ‘KAMAZs’ to the municipality during the meeting on February 11. We hope that Mr. Khajakyan will address this issue in the near future, and we will no longer have the need to remind him of his promises.”
