The Presidential Administration Issues a Statement Regarding the Referendum on Constitutional Amendments
Emphasizing the importance of constitutional reforms, as well as the necessity to maintain the rule of law and uphold Armenia's international reputation, the President of the Republic does not rule out continuing discussions with social and political groups, professional communities, and state bodies such as the National Assembly, the Government, and the Constitutional Court, and seeking advisory opinions from relevant international organizations and experts. This is stated in a new announcement from the Presidential Administration.
“In response to numerous inquiries from the media regarding the referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, we inform you that the President of the Republic has signed the decree to set April 5 as the date for the referendum, guided by the provisions of Article 206 of the Constitution, according to which, after the decision to hold a referendum is made by the National Assembly, the President of the Republic appoints a referendum within a three-day period.
