«I Warn You, You Bastard»: Threats Against Marukyan

Today, during a conversation with journalists, Edmond Marukyan, the head of the 'Bright Armenia' faction, addressed the threats directed at him, stating: “It’s not about the comments; it’s obvious what’s happening. Someone is sitting somewhere and cursing or sanctifying someone else. But I have filed a report with the Prosecutor General. I was told to publish that text from the square, but there were insults in it that I didn’t want to release.”

Nevertheless, he noted that in the message directed at him, it was written: “I warn you, you bastard, soon the bullets will start flying, hope you don’t get hit. The rest is just insults, I don’t want to read it. The writer is not fake, should we waste time with fakes?” Marukyan emphasized his disappointment that a political figure makes a public statement about receiving threats, yet none of the law enforcement agencies seem interested. “Perhaps they are waiting for someone to be shot, then they will come and say ‘we found the murderer with hot tracks or we didn’t find him’,” Marukyan highlighted.
