Yerevan-Meghri Road Section from Vayk to Sarnakunk Closed in Both Directions
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 8 at 21:00, several roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass. The Vardenyats Pass, Sotk-Karabakh, and Gyumri-Bavra roads are closed for all types of vehicles. The Dilijan Tunnel in Tavush region and the road leading to Tsovagyugh in Gegharkunik region are closed for trucks. The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in Aragatsotn region are also closed.
The section of the Yerevan-Meghri road from Vayk to Sarnakunk is closed in both directions. The roads connecting Abovyan to Hatis, Abovyan to Sevaberd, Abovyan to Kaputan, and those in the Ani region are difficult to traverse.
Black ice is present on various sections of the roads in the regions of Aparan and Tsaghkahovit in Aragatsotn, as well as in the Syunik and Gegharkunik regions. The Jajur section of Artik-Akhuryan road also experiences similar conditions. Blizzards are occurring on the Sotk-Karabakh, Aparan-Kuchak roads, in the regions of Ashotik and Amasia in Shirak, and in Sevan city in Gegharkunik, as well as on the Saravan-Zanger section of the Yerevan-Meghri road.
Snow is reported in Tavush, Lori, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Martuni and Sevan in Gegharkunik, Gyumri in Shirak, as well as in Jermuk, Vayk in Vayots Dzor, and Goris and Kapan in Syunik. In the village of Jujevan in Tavush, there is fog. Around 50-60 vehicles are stuck on the Sotk-Karabakh road, while approximately 150 vehicles are accumulated in the area of Sarnakunk on the Yerevan-Meghri road.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia of Russia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles.
