Heavy Snowfall and Blizzard Conditions Expected, Surenyans Says
Meteorologist Gagik Surenyans made a post on his Facebook page, stating:
“On February 8, after noon and towards the evening, a cold atmospheric front of a cyclone will begin to invade the territory of Armenia. Today and tomorrow, until noon, snow will fall only in mountainous regions, but from the evening hours of February 8 until the morning of February 9, snow will cover the entire territory of the republic, with intense snowfall in some areas. Blizzard conditions are expected in mountainous regions, with reduced horizontal visibility. Due to a sharp drop in temperature on the evening of February 8, all roads in the republic will be covered with ice. The air temperature in the territories of the republic today is 10-15 degrees above the climatic norm, but from February 8 to 11, it will gradually decrease by 18-20 degrees,” Surenyans wrote.
