Each of these types of programs is a ticking bomb for the sovereignty and full independence of the Republic of Artsakh: Arman Abovyan

The Secretary of the Parliamentary Group of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Arman Abovyan, wrote on his Facebook page:

As everyone is busy with the new political trend, namely analyzing the expected referendum results, let us not forget "why we have gathered." This is about the latest developments in negotiations around the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

If we analyze the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the negotiations that took place in Geneva, then, with limited information available, I would draw attention to a very important point—the so-called "humanitarian aspect," which was briefly mentioned by our Foreign Ministry.

Excuse me, but what exactly is meant by the logic of "humanitarian" measures? If it involves some kind of targeted group visit programs, then that is somewhat understandable (although I do not believe in the effectiveness of such a format for a number of objective reasons). However, if we are discussing options for joint residential programs for Armenians and Azerbaijanis, then I reiterate my position that this is an extremely bad and dangerous idea, as such projects will inevitably have very serious repercussions for the global philosophy of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

I repeat, each of these types of programs is a ticking bomb for the sovereignty and full independence of the Republic of Artsakh.

Please, let Azerbaijan unconditionally accept the full independence of the Republic of Artsakh, and only after that, let it discuss what it wants with the authorities of Artsakh.

However, I consider it important to emphasize that rumors of this nature are circulating in the press, and essentially we do not have clear evidence that such discussions are taking place by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Steering clear of various conspiracy theories, I am sending an inquiry to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that we at least understand where we are headed.
